Mr. Garfield has worked with a wide range of retail and CPG companies, including Beauty, Big Box, Footwear, and Fashion / Fast Fashion retailers and CPG companies in the Food & Beverage, Home and Personal Care, and Specialty subsectors.  Specific expertise includes supply chain strategy, distribution and logistics management, eCommerce operations, store operations, mergers & acquisitions, cost reduction, growth & brand strategy, international expansion, and enterprise transformation.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Garfield led the Supply Chain Strategy practice for Ulta Beauty where he was responsible for developing the strategic roadmap for the implementation of new capabilities, defining the network strategy, and identifying cost reduction opportunities across the supply chain.  Key projects managed include the development of a five-year network strategy to enable a two-day eCommerce distribution network (40% improvement from current speed) and leading strategic sourcing efforts for key transportation categories, driving over $25M in savings over three-year period  Additionally, Matt supported the development and implementation of a store fulfillment strategies for eCommerce orders, including BOPIS and ship-from-store.  

Before Ulta Beauty, Mr. Garfield spent over 8 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in their Retail and Consumer Strategy & Operations practice where he co-led the Apparel and Footwear practice and led the international expansion practice for Retail and Consumer.
