James Alger is Co-founder and COO of Qloo, the leading AI-powered platform for deciphering culture and taste/culture and taste discovery. Qloo applies deep data science across categories like music, film and TV,  restaurants, fashion, products, travel and more, to generate personalized recommendations based on one’s tastes and preferences.

Alger founded Qloo with Alex Elias in 2012 when the two friends/colleagues recognized that digital advertising and online privacy were evolving, and that soon it would become essential for brands to find new, privacy-centric avenues for understanding and predicting consumer preferences.

Since then, James has steered the development of Qloo’s services to maximize its value and appeal to its customers, bridging the gap between client requirements and the technological development of Qloo’s products and services.

In that role, James led the strategic development and production of marketing campaigns for brands including Estee Lauder, ESPN, MTV, Toyota and United Healthcare.

To date, Qloo has raised over $50M from investment firms like Eldridge, AXA Venture Partners, Moderne Ventures, Bluestone Equity Partners, and AI Ventures, alongside individual investors like Barry Sternlicht, Leonardo DiCaprio and Sir Elton John.
