Simon Molnar is an Australian entrepreneur and the founder of Flagship, a retail technology startup revolutionising visual merchandising for brick-and-mortar stores. With a background in software engineering and deep roots in retail, Simon brings a rare combination of technical expertise and hands-on industry experience to his ventures. Raised in his family’s jewellery store, Simon absorbed the inner workings of retail from an early age. He went on to become CEO of Ice Jewellery, Australia’s largest online pureplay jewellery retailer, and later played a pivotal role in digital marketing and analytics at Afterpay, the global payments platform co-founded by his brother, Nick Molnar. Flagship was born from Simon’s firsthand observation of a critical gap in physical retail: the lack of real-time data to drive merchandising decisions. Today, Flagship helps retailers optimise in-store performance and customer experience, working with brands like Vuori, Mejuri, Peter Alexander and R.M. Williams. In 2025, the company secured $3.75 million USD in U.S. seed funding to accelerate its expansion. Now based in the U.S., Simon is on a mission to make Flagship the Canva of retail - an intuitive, must-have platform that empowers physical retailers to compete smarter. Outside of work, he's a proud girl-dad to two daughters who would happily live at the aquarium if they could.
